Learning to reduce rumination is very helpful for people with depression, according to a study by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Depressed people “don’t need to worry and ruminate,” says Professor Roger Hagen. “Just realizing this is liberating for a lot of people.”
Using metacognitive therapy (MCT), the patients were treated over a 10-week period. After six months, 80% of them had achieved full recovery from their depression diagnosis.
