HIIT Stops Aging At Cellular Level

High-intensity interval training, such as biking, running and swimming, can stop aging at the cellular level.

A study published in Cell Metabolism found that this type of exercise causes cells to make more proteins for mitochondria (which produce energy) and their protein-building ribosomes.

These benefits are greatest among 65-to-80-year-olds.

The younger participants in the study experienced a 49% increase in mitochondrial capacity, while the older people saw an even more dramatic 69% increase.
