Antioxidants Protect Against Lung Cancer

heavy smoker

A diet rich in carotenoids and vitamin C may protect against lung cancer, according to a study published in Frontiers in Oncology.

Male heavy smokers may reduce the risk of lung cancer thanks to vitamin C, beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, and lycopene.

Female moderate smokers and nonsmokers can also benefit from these antioxidants.

So if you are a smoker (even a heavy smoker) consume fruits and vegetables rich in carotenoids and vitamin C to reduce lung cancer risk.
